Wind Squirter® DTIs

Tens of millions of Squirter® DTI's have revolutionized the bolt-up process on power plants and other structural steel projects, making bolt installation and inspection easy and accurate. Now the Wind Power Industry is using them too.

Bolting processes within wind turbines predominantly specify torque values. But the relationship between torque and tension varies as much as +/-30%. Therefore, the actual tensions achieved vary accordingly.

GL-certified Squirter® DTIs guarantee target tension +/- 10%. If it takes a lot of torque to make them squirt, so be it. If it takes less torque, great. Squirter® DTIs don't care how much how much energy it took to turn the nut along the threads of the bolt. It's like having a load cell on every bolt.
