Squirter® DTI FAQs
Yes, Squirter® DTIs can be installed in accordance with the RCSC. The RCSC under 8.2.4. wants the bolt installer to make sure that the protrusions are compressed and the residual gap is less than the job inspection gap. This can be done by any means, but is normally done by routine observation with a feeler gauge. Squirter® DTIs do not inhibit this process, but actually aid the bolt installers visually that at least the minimum required bolt tension has been achieved by witnessing the calibrated volume of silicone and can still use a feeler gauge anytime they like. We actually made Squirters® because we know bolt installers don't like using feeler gauges and wanted to make getting the right tension easy..
