Squirter® DTI FAQs
Are your DTIs and Squirter® DTIs hardened?
Yes. Our DTIs and Squirter® DTIs are hardened in accordance with Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC) specifications, ASTM standards, and the Fastener Quality Act.
- The Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC) defines DTIs as "...hardened, washer-shaped devices..."
- ASTM F959 Section 5.3 mandates quenching and tempering of DTIs. This tempered martensitic structure is just like high-strength bolts, nuts and washers used on structural connections.
- The Fastener Quality Act states that a load-indicating washer shall be through-hardened.
So, if you want your structure to comply with relevant standards, you'll have to use DTIs that are properly hardened.
